Raindrops

GSU Part-time Instructor Aleq Boyk - "Not one single raindrop believes it is responsible for the flood." Meaning: Many people do not take responsibility for their actions. "Let's change that."

This instructor, Aleq Boyk, came to me the other day while I was at work. He was having some problems with his laptop and connecting wirelessly to the building's network. I began helping him and soo enough after I started, he looked up at me and said, "Not one single raindrop believes it is responsible for the flood." I was confused. I asked him what that meant and he told me the meaning.

Aleq explained to me how he was a part-time instructor for Georgia Southern University and how that part-time status might change. I told him I loved that quote and asked who the author of the quote was. He told me, it was something he always said. And so I told him I was definitely going to quote him.

FURTHER REVIEWI found this quote interesting and worthy pondering on. Is this not true? Day after day many people try to keep themselves innocent by putting the blame on others. It is important that we all take responsibility for our actions. What we do today affects us tomorrow and the future our children and their children will be living in.

So the answer to the following question is simple. What can we do today to make a better tomorrow? ---- 1. Take responsibility 2. Love ourselves and others 3. Treat the planet on which we reside with respect and care.
